There are lots of wonderful hiking trails all around Breckenridge, but an easy one that starts just outside of Bluesky in front of the Snowflake Lift is the Sawmill Trail. It is approximately 1½ miles long and follows a stream to the reservoir. It is a great family hike with gentle elevation and lots of shade.
Another great trail that is close by is the Burro Trail. Located further down on Kings Crown Rd on the Lehman ski trail at the bottom of Peak 9, the trailhead is only a short walk away from Bluesky. It is a more strenuous out-and-back hike allowing you to go as far or as short as you like. It is well worth the time with great vistas and views of the wildflowers and wetlands.
The South Illinois Creek Trail is an easy 2 mile out-and-back all-season trail. It features a river and is good for all skill levels.
This is a challenging 14 mile loop with a 3040 ascent peaking at 12,500 feet. The trailhead starts at the Beaver Run parking lot just down the road from Bluesky, then onto the Wheeler trail, Spruce Creek Trail and finally the Burro Trail.
This is an intermediate/advanced 17 mile each way trail, however plan on either biking back or taking a 1 hour shuttle. The trail starts at the Stephen C West Arena and climbs about 2200 feet in total. Highly recommend a good map, warm clothes and plenty of planning for this enjoyable trail.
This is an intermediate/advanced loop trail, approximately 22 miles long with 2,400 feet of total ascent. It is considered a hard route to navigate, so make sure you have adequate maps and wayfinding skills. The trail starts at the intersection of Main and French streets only a few minutes from Bluesky.

Breckenridge has three championship nines, the Bear the Beaver and the Elk. All three nines are Jack Nicklaus signature courses. Playing at 9300+ feet in elevation, each nine offers a mountain golf experience. Panoramic views of the snowcapped Colorado Rockies can be seen on every hole. Dense wooded areas give way to open native grassland and wetland areas. It is not uncommon to spot wildlife during your round. Seeing the beaver, deer and elk, an occasional moose and bear, abundant red fox and red tail hawks, you realize golf at Breckenridge is more than just golf.

Bring an element of drama to your game. The par-35 front nine follows the path of the Snake River and the par-36 back nine winds through a lodgepole pine forest. Impressive elevation changes, variable bunkers, water hazards, and five sets of tees on each hole combine to challenge golfers of all abilities.
Add to that the magnificent views and frequent visits from wildlife and it¹s an experience unlike any other.
